| Cliff Design exclusive supplier of Electrolux Design Lab models 2006 |
|
For the second consecutive year Cliff acts as a show model supplier for Electrolux Design Lab, this year as an exclusive supplier. Cliff Design & Development AB is the preferred supplier of show models for Electrolux and delivers on average a show model to a customer every other week. The Electrolux Design Lab competition 2006 promotes healthy eating habits. Design students from around the world created inspiring household appliance solutions for food preservation and storage that promote healthier eating habits for 2016. The Electrolux Design Lab challenges students to meet the highest international standards in future appliance design, bringing together the creativity of promising design students from around the world. Submissions have come from students in 37 countries. With obesity as one of the greatest public health challenges of the 21st century, this year's Design Lab 2006 entries encourage healthier eating habits by enhancing availability and creating easier access to healthy food at home.
Metin Kaplan capitalized on the idea that people would take healthy meals with them if they could find a way to keep warm food warm and cold food cold. He created a mobile food carrier that keeps food at the desired temperature until it's time to be eaten. This, figured Kaplan, would promote healthy eating and reduce the need for fast-food restaurants. Kaplan, 21, is an industrial design student at Istanbul Technical University. Hundreds of other design students from 37 countries around the world entered this year's competition in March and were Nevale challenged to seek solutions that promote healthy eating habits for the 2016 consumer. "The concept not only solves a problem, but it also promotes a healthier lifestyle," says Henrik Otto, head of Electrolux design. "That became very apparent as we were looking at the whole design of the concept. The winning concept makes it easy to make healthy decisions that are good for you. I was also stunned by the fact that there is a link between the winning concept and the on second and third place winners.

- "It’s always a challenge to produce these show models in the very limited time we have to our disposal, but we pride ourselves to do so with top quality knowing they will be displayed all over the world. But with the current rate with over 30 show models per year we are quite comfortable with undertaking these kinds of projects. We’re thankful for a successful year and we’re looking forward to an exiting 2007." says Johan Andinsson, President and CEO of Cliff Design.
